To become a "Flexer" & begin your journey with us you will be required to
attend a FREE audition. This session is an opportunity to get an insight of how we run our classes, meet our tutors and ask any questions you may have. Additionally, it allows us to learn more about you and your
aspirations in the world of acting.
The Audition is NOT a test so don't worry if you are not an experienced actor or are completely new to the world of acting because you will be offered a place based on your passion and dedication to classes.
The audition gives us a chance to see how you work with others and that you are dedicated to becoming a fully fledged Flexer.
So whilst we have not set minimum requirements in terms of education and or previous experience- we really must ensure that we only offer places to those fully committed to attending classes and giving 100%
The good news is that we have the ability to adapt around demand & increase the number of classes depending on location and staff availability. This means if we receive an exceptionally high demand for a certain location, we may at our discretion, add extra class(es). Please note that we may also offer you a place at one of our other locations and place you on to our waiting list. Please note that by applying you are consenting to us placing you on our waiting list however you can at anytime withdraw your application by contacting us info@flexyouract.com
WHAT HAPPENS AT AUDITION?
Once you complete your application we will contact you by email to confirm your application and offer you an audition, time, date and location.
The email will provide everything you need to know.
On the day, you will be greeted by a member of the team and will join a group of other Auditionees. You may be sent a short script to learn that will be performed with another member of the group.
We understand that our potential Flexers may feel nervous but remember, you will all have the same script and all new to FYA.
You'll be greeted by one of the team and everyone will have the chance to sit down, chill out and meet the other Auditionees.
You'll receive a warm welcome followed by an introduction to FYA before being paired up and away you go!
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE AUDITION?
After your exciting audition our team will process the applications and be in touch with you by email within 5 working days (depending on the number of applicants this may take a few days longer) everyone will receive an email
decision so please bare with us.
Although are classes run in 4 week blocks, we may at our discretion offer places during one of these blocks if a space becomes available. This is because unlike a fixed school term students (Flexers) join us all year-round so spaces do become available.
If you have auditioned at one of our planned intakes (usually 4 times a year) you may be offered start date usually 4 weeks in advance, but we do occasionally offer new Flexers places at any point during the year.
As all classes are designed to suit all Flexers regardless of their skill level or experience (this is because Flex Your Act is not about following a strict curriculum- its literally focused on keeping your "acting muscles" warmed up and flexed. We may have Flexers that join for just 6 months between roles and want to keep their skills up to date before starting their TV or Theatre role just the same as some students may decide to stay with us on a permanent basis.
FYA is unique because we have designed and structured our classes to suit everyone. You may want to join for the love of acting, the thrill of being on stage, to gather extra pieces for your portfolios and showreels or simply to keep all of your skills fresh and ready to go for that next TV ad, theatre role or movie part- the possibilities are endless and the journey is yours but FYA will be with you all the way.
